Construction waste and debris found around the city will now be recycled. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has begun collecting these materials. NMC has appointed C&D Waste, Hyderabad, working under AG Enviro Engineers Limited, for this work.
Five acres have been set aside in Bhandewadi for the establishment of a waste recycling processing plant. This project will be completed in December.
C&D will process and recycle 200 tonnes per day.
This will be used to make sand, bricks, paver blocks, and tiles for construction. To collect waste from the city, the company will use its entire infrastructure.
After surveying the entire city, construction and debris removal have begun in the Laxminagar zone, according to NMC Public Health Engineering Department executive engineer Shweta Banerjee. Construction waste will be drastically reduced as a result of this project. This will contribute to Nagpur becoming smarter and cleaner, she says.
