Two players Apratim Yadav and Yuval Sunil Mohurle shared a lead in open group after four rounds and three players namely Vedika Pal, Vrutika Game and Divyanshi Khandelwal shared lead in girls group after third round of the Nagpur district under-11 open and girls chess championship.
The championship was organised by chess association Nagpur in association with Kalpana Prakash welfare foundation and G.H. Raisoni sports and cultural foundation at Vivekanand hall, Shraddha house, Kingsway, near Kasturchand park.
Earlier, the Championship was inaugurated by IM Anup Deshmukh, Shiv Chhatrapati Awardee in Chess and Dr. Mrunal Naik, Project Head, Raisoni Group jointly by playing a move on the Chess Board. S.S. Soman, Tournament Committee Member of MCA and Bhushan Shriwas, Secretary, Chess Association Nagpur were present on the occasion.
The tournament has attracted 67 entries in open group with 18 FIDE Rated players and 26 entries in Girls Group with 5 FIDE-rated players. The Championship is being organized for selection of two players each from open and girls group who will represent Nagpur District in the coming Maharashtra State Under-11 Chess Championship.
Trophies shall be distributed to top two finishers in each group whereas Medals shall be awarded to participants finishing from 3rd to 10th in the final list.
