Dr Vipin Itankar, District Collector, asked the authorities concerned to keep ready necessary facilities at Deekshabhoomi and Dragon Palace, Kamptee, for the 66th Dhammachakra Pravartan Din programme being held after coronavirus pandemic for the monks and Buddhists coming from various parts of the country and abroad.
He was taking a review of the activities referring Deekshabhoomi, Dragon Palace and Shantivan at Chicholi during October 3 to 6 for the programme at a meeting held in Bachat Bhavan held here on Wednesday. He asked the authorities that they should ensure that no inconvenience is caused to lakhs to followers coming here to participate in the event.
Dr Itankar also asked the zonal officials of Nagpur Municipal Corporation to make arrangements at Dekshabhoomi for availability of water for 24 hours, stand post, tanker, PVC pipeline, sanitation, mobile clinic/medical staff, portable toilets etc. Similarly, they should keep the machinery with boats at Ambazari and Futala lakes. The MSDCL officials should provide lighting arrangement, uninterrupted power supply and necessary steps.
NMC and MSRTC should also provide required buses for the participants and coordinate with the Deputy Commissioner, Traffic Branch, for routes and accident free arrangements. The police should keep proper bandobust while Fire Brigade should keep ready portable fire extinguishers in the vicinity. The Police Department should keep control room and give instructions to concerned machinery for installing CCTV cameras. In case of rains, the officials should make alternate arrangement for accommodation, said Dr Itankar.
Sarang Aawaad, Addl CP, Yogesh Kumbhejkar, CEO, Nagpur ZP, Basavraj Teli, Chinmay Pandit, both Deputy Commissioners of police, Vijaya Bankar, Resident Deputy Collector, Sulekha Kumbhare of Dragon Palace, Dr Sudhir Fulzele, Secretary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti, and others were present.
