SVK Shishan Sanstha, founded by Gayathri Vatsalya,a trained Clinical Psychologist with 20 years of experience working for the cause, aims to work towards skill trainng and employment of people with Intellectual Disabilities.
SVK Shikshan Sanstha organised a Breakfast Recipe Contest followed by an exclusive session on Diet tips for mothers of Special needs children to mark September as National Nutrition Month.
Objective of this session is to raise awareness among mothers of Special needs children about the need and value of healthy eating practices and proper nutrition for upholding a healthy lifestyle.
Smt.Meghna Pandit,a renowned and qualified Dietecian, regular Columnist and the founder of The Nutri Good was the Guest Speaker.Smt.Gayathri Vatsalya welcomed SMT.Meghna Pandit and spoke about the need of Diet Tips for mothers of Special needs children.
Smt.Meghna Pandit during her session, explained that women have distinct nutritional needs throughout their life, especially the mothers of Special needs children need to be more cautious as energy and nutrition needs increase with every phase.
She shared many simple diet tips to be followed by the Special mothers of Special needs children and highlighted the need of proper diet and nutrition after 40 years of age and enlightened the participants on how skipping breakfast can lead to many physical and Mental health issues.
SVK mothers participated in Breakfast recipe contest with a lot of enthusiasm and prepared many healthy breakfast dishes like Jowar Upma,chia smoothie,Sprout brown bread pockets,Banana cutlets, pumpkin shallow fried cutlets etc
Smt.Meghna Pandit appreciated the efforts of SVK Shikshan Sanstha for regularly conducting informative sessions and productive workshops every year to mark Nutrition Month.
