Even after five rounds of the ongoing admission process for the city’s junior colleges, seats in the 11th grade remain unfilled. Even after a recent special second round, a total of 23,427 seats remain unfilled.
The city colleges have a total of 55,800 seats. Only 32,373 of these seats have been filled. Because of the large number of open seats, the Central Admission Committee (CAC) has decided to hold another round of admissions.
Sources informed that the CAC is preparing to conduct the next admis sion round on the lines of ‘first come, first served.’ In the admission process till now, a total of 18,793 seats of science faculty have been filled.
A total of 3,688 seats c arts while 8,431 seats c commerce stream hav been filled. More student took admissions in MCV courses this year com pared to last year.
Experts believe that cit junior colleges canno accept more application and CAC should stop th admission process. “Th committee must let the co leges decide the matter relating to admissions, experts said.
