Security authorities in Delhi reportedly got information about the potential presence of a bomb, which led to an alarm and the denial of permission for the plane to land in Delhi, according to sources.
The alert from Indian Air Traffic Control was conveyed with the foreign aircraft, which had entered Indian airspace and indicated China as its eventual destination. Su-30MKI fighter fighters from the Punjab and Jodhpur air bases of the Indian Air Force were dispatched to intercept the aircraft.
Still unknown are the specifics of the bomb threat and the identity of the Iranian commercial airliner. However, upon clearance, the aircraft is currently flying towards China.
Further details awaited.
