After the success of super-hit crime thriller ‘Murder on the Madh’,Stagecraft Theatre is ready with their 83rd production ‘The Family Jewels’, a hilarious comedy in English. Stagecraft Theatre, which is celebrating their 20thanniversary this year, will be staging the shows of ‘The Family Jewels’ at Dr Hardas Hall
in IMA Annexe, North Ambazari Road, on October 8 (Saturday) and October 9 (Sunday). There will be two shows daily at 5 pm and 7:30 pm sharp. A precious cache of heirlooms belonging to the bride’s family has suddenly gone missing at a wedding reception and the bridegroom has gone into hiding, fearing that the bride’s gun-to ting maternal uncle will shoot him on sight.
As deeply buried secrets and shocking revelations tumble out and constant chaos reigns, a bevy of hopelessly unhelpful characters add to the mayhem, in this madcap, rib-tickling, thigh-slapping take on the madness of Indian weddings. Indeed, a comedy done right in a wedding gone completely wrong, stated a press release.
The cast of ‘The Family Jewels’ includes Bhupesh Wankar, Mrunmayee Kurhade, AjinkyaBarhate, Jaya Mukerji, Sayeli Umredkar, with Sonal Trivedi Malkan, and Nirmalya Sinha. The production crew includes Shubhankar Mishra, Divyanee Kadao, Nivedita Fadnis, Dhruv Chugani, Aman Opai, Santosh Harsinghani, Neelabh Trivedi.
The make up for the actors is being done by Priti Mahajan of Glamour Makeover. The play is sponsored by Zim Laboratories’ Zimunat Melatonin.
