Prabha Rakesh Bhaiya, 75, of Nanded is a living example of the saying that age us just a number. Prabha has won five gold medals at the 29th Maharashtra State Veterans Aquatic Competition, which was held recently at Shantaram Sangne Jaltaranika. She competed in 50 and 100 metre freestyle, 50 and 100 metre backstroke, and four 50 metre relays.
The other team members were Anjali Shaha, Rajshree Jain, and Sushma Bajpayee, all of whom were members of the NIT swimming pool. Bhaiya had previously won a gold medal at Wardha six years ago. She attributes her success to NIIT coaches Meshram and Atul, as well as family members.
