For the first time, Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court will work with five judges during the Diwali
vacation for urgent judicial works. Giving a go-by to colonial era where only one Judge used to be nominated for the vacation period, this time, five judges will hear judicial matters in two parts.
Through a notification issued on Monday, the High Court of Judicature at Bombay, mentioned that Diwali vacation for Court would be from October 24 to November 8, 2022. Courts will resume regular
judicial work from November 9 onwards.
For the first time, a Division Bench has been nominated for the vacation period and same will have Justice
Urmila Joshi-Phalke and Justice M W Chandwani who will work from October 22 to 30, 2022.
Similarly, during the same period, single bench of Justice Joshi-Phalke will hear Civil cases while Justice Chandwani would hear criminal appeals.
In second part from October 31 to November 8, Justice M S Jawalkar and Justice Vrushali V. Joshi will constitute the Division Bench, whileJustice Abhay Ahuja is assignedthe Civil appeals for singlebench while Justice Vrushali V. Joshi will hear criminal appeals.
The sitting plan was notified to litigants and lawyers so that they can be prepared to list their cases and ready for the arguments.
