In response to a recent ruling by the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court regarding feeding stray dogs, more than 500 animal lovers and feeders from Mumbai demonstrated at the Shivaji Park grounds on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.
The demonstrators adhered to a dress code of all-black attire and were heard chanting various pro-feeding stray dog chants.
At the demonstration, people of all ages could be observed, although the majority of the attendees were kids and animal-feeding lovers.
“We are against the Bombay High Court ruling which is punishing public feeding of stray dogs,” protester Mithali Sharma, 26, of Colaba, stated.
Since these creatures have nowhere else to go and no way to support themselves, we will not be in support of something so terrible.
We won’t allow Nagpur or our nation as a whole to becoming cruel to animals.
