WCL Mine Rescue Team is adjudged the Second Best at the All India Mines Rescue Competition held in Rajasthan. WCL Team has won the prize amongst 26 teams from 18 different companies in the country.
The Competition was organized at Sindesar Khurd Mine of Hindustan Zinc Limited near Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Apart from being Over-all Second Best, the WCL Mine Rescue Team secured first place amongst all subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd. The winning spree did not stop there. The team stepped ahead and secured Second Prize in Rescue & Recovery and in the First Aid category. In the final stride, it secured Third Place in ‘The theory Test’ also.
Shri Prabhat Kumar, Director General of Mines Safety, and Shri Ravindra Mandekar, Dy. The Director General of Mines Safety graced the Prize Distribution function with its esteemed presence. Fourteen (14) rescue-trained personnel from WCL were felicitated at the function for completing more than 25 years in the discipline.
