Maha Metro will be constructing a new 11-storeyed building to house the Nagpur district Collector’s office. The building has been planned in the existing premises of the Collector’s office which is a heritage building.
This project was earlier planned for a six-storeyed building which was to be built by the Public Works Department at a cost of Rs 200 crore. But the project was somehow dumped.
But the new project has the support of the Deputy Chief Minister from the city Devendra Fadnavis who recently held a meeting in this regard where a presentation was made. Sources say that now the project may get more funds from the existing government.
It is learnt that the existing Setu office, mining office, state excise building, and the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Bhavan will be demolished to house the new building.
