The Nagpur unit of Aam Admi Party (AAP) celebrated the party’s victory in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Sweets were distributed and the party workers danced to the tune of bands. AAP wrested the rule from Bharatiya Janata Pary by securing 134 seats out of 250. The MCD was ruled by BJP for the last 15 years. BJP could win only 104 seats in the elections. Congress was relegated to the third place
In Nagpur, the celebrations were led by AAP’s Vidarbha Unit Dr Devendra Wankhede. He said that similar results would be seen during the Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections. State Unit treasurer Jagjit Singh, State Joint Secretary Ashok Mishra, National Council member Amrish Savarkar, Nagpur Convenor Kavita Singhal, Vice-president Dr Jafri, Organising Secretary Shankar INgole, Secretary Bhushan Dhakulkar, Youth Wing leader Kuntal Akre were prominent among those present.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejariwal advised the party workers to refrain from using abusive language despite instigation by others. The people of Delhi have demonstrated that by providing basic facilities of water, roads, and electricity votes can be fetched and not by building hospitals .and schools.
Senior leader Gopal Rai, and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Man also addressed the party workers. A transgender candidate Bobby thanked the people of Delhi for electing him, informs Rajesh Tiwari, Joint Secretary.
