Prime Minister Narendra Modi patted Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for expediting the work on Samruddhi Mahamarg. The first phase of the fast track road between Nagpur and Mumbai, up to Shirdi was dedicated to people by Modi on Sunday at Nagpur.
Union Minister for Highways Nitin Gadkari, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, BJP Maharashtra Unit President Chandrashekhar Bawankule along with Shinde and Fadmavis welcomed Modi at Nagpur Airport in his arrival.
At the airport Modi flagged off Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat Express. The passengers of the Vande Bharat will be provided with all the facilities.
Modi then moved to the Freedom Park and travelled through Nagpur Metro with a selected number of students up to Khapri. He also held discussions with the students and dedicated the Metro-I project, which extends the metro services beyond Sitabuldi towards north and east. He also announced Phase-II of the Metro Services, through which the Metro services will be extended to Butibori, Kanhan and Hiungna.
He then dedicated All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur to the nation. The health facility of which the bhoomipujan was performed by Modi himself in 2017, was dedicated to the nation on Sunday. The facility which was local till Saturday became a national service facility on Sunday. Modi also addressed the students of AIIMS.
