On Sunday at Apsara Chowk in the Imambada neighbourhood, a car ran over a six-year-old child who was being followed by a stray dog. Suman Bagdi, who is from Rajasthan but was residing at Reshimbagh Maidan, has been identified as the deceased.
Suman is from a nomadic group that originally lived in Rajasthan, according to the authorities. The family travels from city to city selling toys. Suman’s family members have been hawking toys and other products for a few days now. close to Reshimbagh Ground On Sunday around 6:30 p.m., Suman and her family were at Ap- sara Chowk selling toys. Unexpectedly, a stray dog began after her.
To avoid being bitten, Suman began running away and came in front of a car (MH- 12 EX 4130). She sustained in- juries and was rushed to Gov- ernment Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where she was declared dead.
Imambada police have reg- istered a case of rash driving and death due to negligence against the driver of the car. At many squares in the city, minors can be seen selling toys, pens and other items or begging. They come to the drivers as soon as the signal closes and this poses a risk but the traffic police do noth- ing about it.
