The Maharashtra badminton team, which will compete in the Yonex-Sunrise 34th Sub-Junior (Under-15 and Under-17) National Badminton Championships scheduled to take place in Bhubaneswar, Odisha from December 26 to 30, 2022, has been nominated to be coached by international shuttler and seasoned senior city coach Kiran V Makode.
Kiran Makode, a certified Badminton World Federation Level 1 coach, has helped several aspiring players in the area develop their professional careers.
One of Olympic Gold Quest’s best coaches is the left-handed Makode. Additionally, a few years ago, he served as the junior Indian team’s coach while they competed in the Dutch and German Open.
The brilliant athletes Ridheema Sarpate, Nishika Gokhe, and Pranay Gadewar from Orange City will also participate in their debut Sub-Jr Nationals competition.
This season, Pranay Gadewar and Nishika Gokhe of the U-15 mixed doubles team won the state championship.
Similar to this, Ridheema Sarpate and Nishika Gokhe’s U-15 girls’ doubles team swept the state championships this season with a dominant showing.
The team is managed by Aurangabad native Siddharth Patil, with Himanshu Godbole serving as his assistant.
