J. N. Tata Parsi Girls Highschool’s Solo Classical Cance competition’s preliminary round was held on 15th December 2022.
The judges were Sonali Jayesh Pawar, Ruhi Masodkar and Suchita Nagarkar.
There were two categories A(classes 5,6,7) and B(classes 8,9,10). The students of Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass, Chetna V and Anushree Deshpande participated in categories A & B respectively, wherein each participant had to perform a classical piece of 5 minutes.
Chetna V performed Bharatnatyam in which she presented Todaimangalam. Anushree Deshpande performed Kathak in which she presented a Vandana, thaat, todas, footwork, kavit & Hori.
Category A had 11 competitors and B had 10 competitors from which 5 competitors from each category were selected for the finals.
Both participants from CPS AB qualified for the final round which comprised a 7-minute performance and was held on 21 December 2022, the judges being Swati Shirish Bhalerao, Shubhangi Pohare and Suchita Nagarkar.
Chetna V of class VII won the first prize and received a cash award of Rs. 1000 in category A. Anushree Deshpande of class X emerged as the First Runner-up receiving Rs.750 in category B.
Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass was awarded the Overall Trophy of Lord Natraj.
The children were accompanied by Mrs. B. Kalyani.
Anushree and Chetna were commended by the Principal, Mrs. Perveen Cassad, Mrs. Bhakti Bobde and the staff.
