After 41 years, Nagpur has got the honor of hosting the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress. The 72nd Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) is jointly organized by Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association (IPCA) and Department of Pharmaceutical Science, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur from 20th to 22nd January 2023 at premises of Jamnalal Bajaj Administrative Building, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Amravati Road. On Friday, 20th January2023 the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Hon’ble Nitinji Gadkari would inaugurate the IPC and Dr. Ajit Singh, Chairman, ACG Capsules Limited, Dr. Venugopal Somani, DGCI, Government of India will be prominently present .
Indian Pharmaceutical Congress is a congregation of Pharma-professionals throughout the country wherein professionals from every nook and corner of the country come together to discuss the issues related to Health in general and Pharmacy in particular. People from Pharma Industries, Regulatory bodies, Research & Development, Pharma Machinery industry, API, excipients and chemical industry, the teaching fraternity, and students come together with about 10,000 delegates from India and abroad.
The objective of the congress is to bring together academicians, scientists, industrialists, and experts from different parts of the country to exchange knowledge and ideas. Also, to provide an in-depth analysis of role of Pharmacist in Health care system and update the knowledge of the participants from academic/research arena.
The theme of the 72nd IPC focuses on “Access to Quality and Affordable Medical Products”. This Indian Pharmaceutical Congress is being organized after a gap of two years due to COVID-19 pandemic. So, The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of IPC has decided to focus on vital subjects like CEO conclave where more than 20 Chairman, CEO and MD from industries such as Gencrest Inc.; Suven Life Sciences; Pfizer; Blue cross; Ajanta Pharma; Aurobindo; Orbicular; AMTZ; Bharat Biotech; Bharat Serum and Vaccines; Horiba; Pulse Pharma; Viatris (Mylan); Indoco Remedies; Baidyanath; Vicco; Fourtts; Nitika Pharmaceuticals; Zim Laboratories; Genetek; JB Chemicals, Pune; Jinuo Biotechnology will meet and discuss the future plans and opportunities in the field of pharmaceuticals for the society with Hon’ble Nitinji Gadkari, Union Minister, Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India and Patron of the IPC, Nagpur.
Shri. Atul Mandlekar, Chairman, heading the team of LoC and organizing secretary Dr. Milind J. Umekar, APTI National President and Prof. Prakash Itankar, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences with all LoC team are taking care of entire organization of this IPC. 13 symposium, 39 lectures and 85 speakers
IPC has a unique feature as it will bring together advancements in pharmaceutical, medical and pharmacological sciences, drug discovery and health education. The organizers plan for conducting 39 lectures under 13 symposia and plenary sessions, Total 85 speakers/resource persons have already consented to deliver speeches in various scientific sessions during the three days congress.

Post the inauguration other dignitaries followed by keynote address by Dr. Ajit Singh, Chairman, ACG Capsules Ltd and Presidential Symposium on “Access to Quality and Affordable Medical Products” in presence of Dr. Venugopal Somani, DCGI, Govt of India and President IPCA – 2022 and Dr. T. V. Narayana, Secretary, IPCA& President, IPA will take place. The other symposiums are organize on ‘Medical Device Industry: Vision 2030’, ‘Advancements in Pharmaceutical Technology and DDS’, ‘Digital Therapeutics and Regulatory Affairs: Dynamics, ‘Drug Discovery: Breakthroughs and Emerging Trends’, ‘Emerging Infectious Diseases’, Transforming Pharmacy Profession: FIP development goals’ ‘CPA and AAiPS’, ‘Cancer Research :Tumour Targeting & Treatment’ by Eminent personalities from Industries, foreign speakers from University of Florida, South Korea, University of Oxford, UK, USA, UAE, South Africa and experts from IPC, Gaziabad; CDSCO, Delhi; ICT, CSIR, and DRDO. The exclusive part of the conference is the panel discussion by PFIZER Innovation, Global R & D – India’s Perspective by Dr. Sharad Goswami, Senior Director Public Affairs, Pfizer. Another highlight of conference is the HR Conclave where CEO, MD, VP and HR Heads from different pharmaceutical industries such as Lupin, Aurobindo, Alkem, Dr. Reddy and many more would be participating in panel discussion.
Similarly, on 21st and 22nd January the symposiums and plenary sessions from NIPER, Mohali; Head: Herbals Research, Hindustan Lever Research Center, Bangalore; Merck LS Pvt. Ltd.; Syndax Pharmaceuticals, USA; and doctors from AIIMS Nagpur will deliberate. As usual, the IPC 2023 will also provide unique platform for discussion and interaction by all pharmacy professionals from industry, academia, regulatory, community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, pharma consultancies and the student community. The LOC of the 72nd IPC has been constituted by including representatives from all pharmacy professions. For future establishments of the pharma industry and traders, a mega pharma and machinery exhibition has been arranged with participation of more than 200 exhibitors from across the country. They will showcase their latest products, technologies, and services in the three days expo. The stalls include medical devices, pharma machinery, laboratory instruments, pharma products, books and journals, pharma excipients etc. This is the first time the IPC expo has stalls of medical devices, he said.
In order to help new entrepreneurs in the pharma sector, the IPC will hold interactive sessions of pharma CEOs and HR managers in the hope of motivating young graduates to enter into pharma business. In the CEO conclave, ministers from central and state governments, drug controller general of India and captains of leading pharma companies will attend.

In 72nd IPC LoC also organizes cultural fest for delegates in the form of Musical Live concerts of Javed Ali and Nitin Mukesh and world famous floating musical fountain show at futala, Nagpur. 72nd IPC 2022 will surely be source of knowledge and will be fruitful for all the pharmacy professional from different domains.
