The Nagpur Municipal Corporation is collaborating on the project (NMC). The Amrut 2.0 India Water Pitch-Pilot-Scale Startup Challenge of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, has shortlisted Navyoni. Urban water concerns will be addressed through the challenge by identifying and promoting creative, environmentally friendly solutions.
The collaboration between NMC and Navyoni will make municipal schools smarter, cleaner, and more water-efficient. The “Vajira” smart basin model comes with an acrylic solid surface washbasin that has been retrofitted, a stainless steel faucet that dispenses liquid soap, and a touch sensor-based brass water faucet. Only when a human is present will the product’s user-detecting system turn it on. Once the user exits, it will turn the product off immediately.
The Maharani Laxmibai Marathi Primary School in Pardi and the Dattatreya Nagar Marathi Upper Primary School in Bidipeth currently each have four smart washbasins installed. Employees, students, and cleaning staff have all received instruction from the startup on how to use the smart basin. Once finished, the facility will provide 8,269 students and staff with better, more hygienic hand washing options, saving, on average, 600 to 800 liters of water every day.
