On Tuesday, two doctors from Nagpur city saved a patient’s life while on board from Dubai to Bombay on Indigo Airlines. Dr. Sohal Parate, a critical care specialist in Nagpur who works with Swasthyam Super speciality Hospital, Nagpur along with Dr. Priyanka Deshmukh Parate, from Shalinitai Meghe Hospital and Research Centre, Wanadongri saved a lift of a 50 years old man while on board.
Dr. Sohal Parate told The Live Nagpur that “The patient felt uneasiness and dizzy. When we further examined the patient in the flight, the patient suffered from hypotension. The symptoms of the patient’s condition were heart attacks. We treated the patient will the help of emergency medications that were available on the airline.”

Dr. Parate further added, “The 50-year-old patient had an angioplasty 3 years back and somehow skipped his 2 blood thinner tablets. After stabilizing the patient, we handed him over to the airport staff. Indigo Airlines were very well equipped with the medical emergency medical kit. The staff was very helpful and handled the situation very calmly.”

“I feel the heart patients should not skip their medications at all. Especially patients suffering from blood pressure, diabetes, and hypertension. It is their due responsibility to have their medications as and when prescribed. They should take extra care of themselves”, Dr. Parate added.
