On Sunday, February 12, 2023, the Heritage Sitabuldi Fort will be made open to the general public. The Historical Fort is accessible to everyone from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The entry to the Fort shall be from Army Recruiting Office gate opposite the Railway Station.
The Sitabuldi fort is located in the middle of the twin hills of Sitabuldi in the centre of the city. The popular Anglo-Maratha War inspired the construction of the fort as a war memorial to honour the valour of those soldiers who lost their lives.
A Gond king named Raja Bhakta Buland Shah constructed this fort in the year 1702. As a symbol of respect and remembrance for the soldiers’ valour, the Indian Army keeps up the monuments and graves.
