Youth Empowerment Summit is an important forum for the youth to get information related to their employment. Education, skill development, financial support and employment are necessary for the youth. Fortune Foundation has made the forum available for the youth in the form of this summit, said Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Fadnavis inaugurated the three-day summit in MLA Hostel premises, on Friday. The summit is being held with the cooperation of the District Collectorate and Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
Congratulating the organisers Fadnavis said that the population of youth under the age of 35 years constitutes about 65 per cent in India. Indian economy, which was at tenth place in 2014 is upgraded to fifth place. It will soon reach third place, he said
The number of start-ups was very few in 2014. It has reached over 80,000 now. The EPFO accounts which were about 5 crores have increased to 27 crores. This is because of the large scale generated through the start-ups, Fadnavis said.
The government would support any such kind of activities, he added.
District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar, Legislators Mohan Mate, Tekchand Savarkar, ex-MLA Sudhakar Deshmukh, ex-MLC Anil Sole, Parinay Fuke, industrialist Pyare Khan, Rajesh Rokde, Prashant Ugemuge and others were present.
Anil Sole made introductory remarks. Yogesh Ban conducted the proceedings. Ashish Wandile proposed a vote of thanks.
The Youth Empowerment Summit will be held from February 17 to 19. Representatives of 158 companies will conduct interviews to fill up more than 5,000 vacancies. Stalls providing information about various schemes of the government are also available. This includes stalls of various banks, Mudra Loan, guidance for start-ups etc.
