Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Satellite Launch Mission 2023 was carried out by the Martin Foundation, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation, and Space Zone India in collaboration. It was launched from Pattipolam Village in the Chengalpattu District of Tamil Nadu.
A rocket assisted in the space launch of 150 pico satellites in total. Ten pico satellites created by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) students were featured. Very small spacecraft are known as pico satellites.
The Satellite Launch Vehicle Mission-2023 was started in order to realise Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s aim of making India a missile power. 150 student-built satellites from across the nation were launched into orbit as part of this mission.
Students were given online training for that. A workshop was conducted in Nagpur to make the satellite. The satellites made in this workshop was launched into space on Sunday. Various elements of the atmosphere will be studied through these satellites.
Seven students and four teachers from NMC Schools were present during the event. Governor of Tamil Nadu T Soundarara- jan was also present, said science teacher Deepti Bisht.
