Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) officials to permanently solve the problem of water-clogging near Poddareshwar Ram Mandir, as it is going to undertake construction of a cement road.
The civic body recently issued a notification about closure of road stretch from Shitala Mandir to Sadoday Plaza, near Mayo Hospital Square, in Prabhag no 19, till February 28.
The small patch of about 150 metres presently is a low-lying area as the
height of adjoining road stretches is more and hence, during rains, water remains stagnant at the spot. This affects the movement of vehicles and they have to take a long detour to reach upto Cotton Market and ahead.
The shopkeepers took up the matter at various levels and even apprised Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Radhakrishnan B about the problem.
The zonal officials said, proposal for raising the height of the road stretch has been prepared and same would be processed.
