Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University presented a Rs 45.70 crore deficit budget of Rs 635, 73,30000 on Saturday. The budget was tabled during the meeting of the Senate.
A major emphasis on infrastructure development has been laid in the budget presented by Pro-VC Dr Sanjay Dudhe. The University has made a provision of only Rs 7 crore for the welfare of the students.
The budget for the year 2023-24 is 87.78 crores more than that of the last financial year. Dr Dudhe stated that efforts to reduce the losses have been made. Last year the deficit was Rs 51.37 crore.
The University has also made a provision of Rs 50 crore for the centenary year celebrations of the University.
