Mild earthquake tremors were reported in the Chandrapur district’s Gondpimpri taluka as well as Mahagaon (Bu) in the Gadchiroli district’s Aheri taluka. Mild tremors were also felt in parts of Telangana state. The earthquake had a magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter scale. These tremors, according to experts, occurred within 5 kilometres within the ground.
The Godavari fault zone is said to be prone to earthquakes. The earthquake was felt in the Dahegaon area near Kagaznagar in Telangana state on Tuesday, March 21, at 8.42 a.m. Following that, earthquake tremors were felt in Gondpimpri taluka of Chandrapur district and Mahagao in Aheri taluka of Gadchiroli district, according to experts. When asked about this, District Collector Vinay Goda stated that the district administration does not yet have such information. He stated that the work of gathering information is in progress.
