Zero Mile Youth Foundation felicitated Dr Parshuram Khune on his arrival from Delhi after receiving the Padma Shri award at the hands of President Droupadi Murmu. Dr Khune, a senior artist from Gurnoli village of Kurkheda taluka of Gadchiroli district is known as ‘Dada Kondke of Zadipatti’. He has been active in the Zadipatti region for the last five decades.
Dr Khune has played more than 800 different roles in dramas in over 5,000 shows. Dr Khune was Sarpanch of Gurnuli Gram Panchayat for 15 years and Up-sarpanch for five years. For the last 10 years, he is President of Zadipatti Kala Manch and is also engaged in activities related to the removal of superstition.
Before being selected for the coveted Padma Shri award, Dr Khune received Maharashtra Government’s Shetinishtha Award in 1991, Jadugar Sunil Bhavsar Memorial Award in 1992, Shyamrao Bapu Pratishthan Award in 1995.
Dr Khune dedicated the Padma Shri award to the audience in the Zadipatti area. Dr Khune arrived at Nagpur after receiving the Padma Shri award. Zero Mile Youth Foundation felicitated him in its office. Dr Khune narrated his experience while working in the field of drama in the region.
Dr Samay Bansod, Prashant Kukde, Kalyan Deshpande, Vaibhav Bawankar, Trupti Girhe, Dr Saurabh Nimkar, Dr Kishor Netam, Dr Sushant Chimankar, Dr Saurabh Mohod, Sunil Fudke, Dr Kishor Ingloe and other members of the Foundation were present.
