After one of its tyres burst, a car travelling from Nagpur to Shirdi on the Samruddhi Expressway crashed into the barricades. Wardha RTO’s flying squad, which was on the route for investigation, rushed to assist.
Two women, two men, and two children were among those who narrowly escaped with only minor injuries. The car (MH-04/GE0735) was tarvelling from Nagpur to Shirdi on Samruddhi Highwayon Thursday. Between Yelkeli and Pulgaon, a tyre burst, causing the car to slam into the barricades.
The accident shattered the front end of the car. After the tank burst, oil spilled onto the road. There was a chance of fire. Wardha’s sub-regional transport office (RTO) dispatched a flying squad to inspect the vehicles. This squad arrived on the scene immediately and evacuated the six passengers.
The squad was notified via the toll-free number. As soon as the information was received, an ambulance and towing van arrived on the scene, preventing a second accident by leaving the damaged vehicle on the roadside.
Ambulances transported passengers with minor injuries to the hospital. Motor vehicle inspectors Tushari Bobade and Vishal More, as well as assistant MVIs Anurag Salankar and Pandurang Waghmare, were among those on the RTO’s flying squad.
Wardha’s sub-regional transport officer, Sameer Sheikh, advised drivers to inspect their vehicles and tyres before taking the Samruddhi. Because of the hot weather, there is air circulation in the tyre, which causes it to become hot and prone to bursting. As a result, fill nitrogen air as sparingly as possible.
