The Crime Branch of Chandrapur police confiscated a vehicle illegally transporting cows and their progeny. Based on a tip off Police Inspector along with his team followed a suspected vehicle moving towards Hadasti via Rajura.
The driver suspected that the vehicle is being followed by the police, started driving the vehicle at a high speed, and hit a roadside tree. The driver fled the spot after hitting the tree. The police seized 31 cattle including 20 cows, seven calves, and four bulls in the vehicle bearing number plate MH34 BZ0210.
The cattle tied mercilessly tied by ropes were rescued and taken to a Goshala in Rajura. The police seized material worth Rs 12.77 lakh and registered offence under Maharashtra Animal Protection Act.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Ravindrasingh Pardesi and Additional SP Rina Janbandhu by PI Mahesh Kondawar, PSI Atul Kawle and staff.
