On Monday morning, April 10, around 10.30 AM, the forest department placed 5 different cages at various places near the Ayyappa temple in the community hall of Ayudhya Nirman Chanda near the Chandrapur city.
For the past several days, local people have been reporting about the leopard attacking and injuring near about 5-7 people in Piperbodi and Ordinance Factory Colony area.
When the Ordinance Administration informed the Forest Department about this incident, the Forest Department installed cages at Ayyappa Temple, State Bank, Hira House and other three places of Ordnance factory Colony four days ago to capture the leopard. After coming to eat the bait placed in this cage, it got stuck in one of the cages.
According to the reports, the leopard is near about two years old and is current kept at Gandha Nala Nursery of the Forest Department. The forest officials of the Bhadravati Forest range initiated the action.
