Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced Rs 4 lakh each will be given to the dependents of those killed in the incident of the tree falling on the temple shed at Paras in Akola district. He also ordered an inquiry into the incident.
Fadnavis told reporters on Monday that Rs 4 lakh would be given to the dependents of those killed in the incident. In addition, Rs 74 thousand will be given to each person who is 40 percent to 60 percent injured. The assistance of Rs 2 lakh and 50 thousand will be given to persons with more than 60 percent disability. Along with this, financial assistance of Rs 16,000 will be given to the injured in case of hospitalisation for more than a week, and financial assistance of Rs 5,400 will be given to the injured who are hospitalised for less than a week. Fadnavis said that he is in constant touch with the District Magistrate, and instructions have been given to get the injured treated in a good hospital. The state government will bear the expenses of the treatment of all those injured in the accident.
It is noteworthy that, till Monday morning, seven people have died in the incident of a neem tree falling on the shed of a temple during late-night rains in Maharashtra’s Akola district. So far, 35 injured people have been rescued and admitted to the hospital.
