The 97th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan (All India Marathi Literary Meet), will be held in Amalner in the Jalgaon district. The decision was taken By Marathi Literature Federation. The literary meet in the place where renowned social worker Sane Guruji worked, is being held after a gap of 71 years, after 1952.
A meeting of the apex literary organization was held in Pune on Sunday. Chairperson Usha Tambe, Secretary Ujjwala Mehendale and Prakash Page and other office bearers were present. Besides Amalner, proposals from Satara, Audumbar (Sangli) and Jalna were also received. A committee of the Federation visited Amalner before finalizing its name for hosting the literary festival.
