WritteOwl is considered the Vahana (Vehicle/Mount) of Goddess Lakshmi, it is more familiar to ornithologists as the king of the night. There are some misconceptions and misunderstandings about him in the society, but bird watchers and photographers capture him in the camera only with the view of how to get a better image of him. Makarand Pardeshi, a wildlife photographer from Chandrapur, captured a photograph of a very rare white owl.
When the pigment in the body decreases, the white color or a color decreases. Then those birds or animals appear white or of a different color. White birds or animals are not separate species. It occurs due to lack of pigments in the body. This type is called ‘leucistic albinism’. Often these animals and birds also have ‘partial albinism’.
Some parts of the body are white (usually the head) and some parts are natural colors. This type of deer was found in the Pench tiger project a few years ago. In the bore tiger project, a pale brown ‘lysistic bear’ was found. this type of bird is rarely seen in the owl.
