Hi-tech ‘Vande Bharat Express’, which runs smoothly on Nagpur-Bilaspur and Bilaspur-Nagpur railways, has come to a halt. ‘Tejas Express’ will run on this route from May 14. The fare of this train will be lower than Vande Bharat.
Bilaspur-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express Train No. 20825/20826 has been temporarily closed. From May 14, the second express will be run on this route called Tejas Express. The Tejas Express will have 11 coaches, including two executive class coaches, 7 chair car coaches and 2 power cars. The railway administration has informed that the Secunderabad Tirupati Vande Bharat Express 20701 / 20702 will be operated on a temporary basis from May 14 until the racks are received.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Vande Bharat Express running on Nagpur-Bilaspur-Nagpur route from Nagpur railway station on December 11.
Passengers who do not want to use this alternative arrangement can avail refund of Bilaspur Nagpur Vande Bharat Express. They can refund their fare amount without any cancellation charges. So the passengers who will travel in Tejas Express can get a refund of the respective category ticket fare for that distance within 48 hours after completion of the journey at the scheduled destination on the basis of a certificate received from TTE or the Station Manager. Those who have booked tickets online will get a refund of the fare amount online only.
The refund will also be arranged at the railway station. The railways will give information regarding this through the public announcement system at the railway station and through messages during the journey. Vande Bharat Express travel fare from Nagpur to Bilaspur and Bilaspur to Nagpur is Rs 955. However, the fare of Tejas Express will be Rs 830 only.
