A builder has encroached on the Footpath on London Street. This builder in Khamla Sahakar Nagar area had recently bought a large plot of 80 thousand square feet from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The builder has put a tin fence around this plot. While putting up this fence, the builder has also taken over the front footpath. The said builder had bought this place for Rs 111.75 crore at a record price of Rs 14 thousand per square foot.
Local citizens have raised the question whether NMC sold the Footpath to the builder along with the plot. Atul Joge, Abhay Savarkar and other citizens have raised this issue through social media and asked the administration to answer.
The encroachment on the footpath has caused inconvenience to the citizens walking through this area every day. Mutton-chicken sellers, fruit and vegetable vendors have already encroached on the footpath in this area. Despite the repeated action taken by the Municipal Corporation, the problem of encroachment in this area has not been solved, now, the fact that the builder encroached directly on the footpath has proved that the NMC has no deterrent against the encroachers.
