The heat wave seems to continue in Vidarbha as Nagpur recorded the maximum temperature soaring to 42.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
The data from Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) Nagpur showed that Akola and Wardha were the hottest in Vidarbha, with a maximum temperature above 43 degrees Celsius. Amravati, Bramhapuri, Washim, Yeotmal and Chandrapur closely followed with the highest temperature recorded above 42 degrees Celsius.
Gondia recorded 41.5, and Buldhana saw 41.0 degrees Celsius as the highest temperature for the day.
As per the met department’s forecast, the temperatures are expected to remain on the higher side for the next few days. Suspecting a person affected by sunstroke, pour water on the victim’s head, immediately give ORS or lemon juice, and take him to the nearest health centre.
In its warning, the Met department has advised citizens to stay indoors.
Note: Traditional remedies like onion salad and raw mango with salt and cumin can prevent heat stroke. If you feel dizzy or ill, see a doctor immediately.
