The tigress that killed four persons in the villages of Savli taluka of Chandrapur was finally captured by the sharpshooters of the forest department. The forest department managed to capture the tigress around 1 pm on Saturday afternoon.
This tigress will soon be sent to Gorewada in Nagpur. 50 trap cameras, five cages and 100 forest personnel were deployed to capture this tigress.
As the tiger attacks increased continuously, the angry citizens decided not to pick up the dead bodies. So the situation was on the verge of escalating. MLA Vijay Wadettiwar warned Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar in stern words not to arrest the villagers if they kill the tiger. Since then, the campaign to imprison the tigress was intensified.
The tigress is currently kept in the Forest Park Office. Divisional Forest Officer Prashant Khade informed that the beast will be sent to Gorewada.
