The students associated with the startup “Ashtatech” of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University have developed a sweets-cutting machine to achieve increased production in less time. On Friday, this computer-operated machine was sent to Nagpur’s renowned food production organizations.
The food processing industry is experiencing rapid growth, and there is a growing demand for innovative products and machines in this sector. Considering the increasing demand in this field, Ashtatech Pvt. Ltd., the startup at the university, has developed a machine for cutting sweets in less time. They have successfully created this machine within a very short period of three months and at a minimal cost. The machine has been sent to the relevant management through the university’s incubation centre. Harshad Vasule, Rohit Shende, and Akshay Ingole from Ashtatech Pvt. Ltd. have made this innovative development with the help of the university’s incubation centre. Dr. Subhash Choudhari, the honourable Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sanjay Dudhe, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Raju Hivase, the Registrar, Dr. Rajesh Singh, the Director of Innovation and Research, and Dr. Abhay Deshmukh, the head of the incubation centre, have congratulated the students involved in creating the sweets cutting machine.
24 kilograms of sweets cutting in a minute
With the machine developed by Ashtatech, it is possible to cut 24 kilograms of sweets in just one minute. This results in significant savings in labour compared to the traditional manual cutting process. Cutting sweets manually used to take a considerable amount of time, but with this machine, the process can be completed in a very short time. As a result, there will be an increase in production.
Use of computer system
This machine is operated using a computer system. Specific commands regarding size need to be given to the computer system. After placing the raw material in the machine’s tray, the machine cuts it into pieces according to the specified size. Various sizes of sweets can be prepared using this machine through the computer system.
Double-deck machine
The sweets-cutting machine developed at the university’s incubation centre is a double-deck machine. It can cut both square-shaped and round-shaped sweets simultaneously. With its high cutting capacity, a significant quantity of sweets can be produced in a day. Ashtatech has also provided support to the industry by developing such machines in the past.
Emphasis on cleanliness
The fear of contact and transmission of infections has been experienced worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, with the help of technology, various goods are being produced through machines to minimize human contact. Ashtatech has also given great importance to cleanliness while developing this machine.
