A young man clad in jeans and a checked shirt abducted a three-and-a-half-year-old girl taking advantage of the fact that her father neglected the child to buy tickets. The incident occurred at the booking counter on the north side of Itwari railway station in Nagpur around 10 am today.
Due to the immediate alertness of the Railway police, the Police managed to locate the accused and the girl within two hours. The Police identified the accused with the help of CCTV footage.
According to preliminary information, a person from Nagpur came to Itwari railway station in Nagpur around 10 am with his three-and-a-half-year-old daughter. As he queued up to buy tickets, the girl drifted away towards the crowd. Seeing that the father is not attentive, the accused picked up the little girl and escaped. Seeing that the girl was out of sight, the father called out her name and immediately informed the railway police.
To search for the accused and the abducted girl, police inspector Manisha Kashid and her colleagues at the Nagpur railway station checked the CCTV footage of the camera facing the ticket window. As per reports, the girl was handed over to her father in a safe condition.
