The effect of extended summer is seen in Nagpur’s vegetable market. In summer, local arrivals have decreased, and vegetables are coming from outside. As a result, the prices of vegetables have increased.
The prices of ingredients used in daily meals, such as coriander, tomatoes, and green chillies, have also increased.
The arrival of vegetables in the market is highest from Bhilai, Raipur, Durg, Pandharpur, Nashik, Bangalore, and Sangamner. Various types of vegetables are coming from these regions.
The price of tomatoes has gone up to Rs 60 per kg in the retail market. Tomatoes are arriving from Maganapally in Bengaluru, and there is a long wait for local goods to arrive. The arrival of vegetables from Buldana, Aurangabad, is expected to start in the next few days. In view of the extended summer, there will be a delay in the arrival of local goods.
It is said that the prices of vegetables will be higher during Ganeshotsav and Jyeshtha Gauri Pujan, even during the rainy season.
