The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) intends to question actor Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan regarding an alleged extortion attempt by former NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede.
The CBI aims to record their statements to uncover the conspiracy related to the raid of a Mumbai cruise ship in October 2021, during which Aryan Khan was arrested despite no drugs being found on him. The officials, requesting anonymity, emphasize the statements’ importance in unravelling the case. The CBI had initiated a preliminary examination for Wankhede in May and is awaiting court approval for an intensive interrogation. The Bombay High Court has granted Wankhede interim protection until June 23. The investigation concluded that Aryan Khan was deliberately targeted, despite the NCB’s attempt to portray him as a drug dealer with international connections. He was released on bail after 25 days.
