Two suspects have been apprehended in a case of Tiger poaching by the Nagpur Forest Department in collaboration with a team from Bhandara. The action was taken based on a tip received by the Nagpur Forest Department.
The operation was carried out after discovering that a tiger poaching incident was planned in Pavnar. The suspects, identified as Nilesh Sudhakar Gujarathi, aged 33, and Vikas Bathole Batho, aged 31, both residents of Chandrapur, have been taken into custody. The seized items include a tiger skin measuring 82cm in length and 79cm in width and an Activa scooter bearing the license plate MH 34 CB 2717.
The accused will face charges under various sections of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, for their involvement in forest offences. The successful operation was conducted in the Pavnar Forest Range, Bhandara Forest Department, Bhandara. The investigation is being led by senior forest officials, including Ramesh Kumar Bhawase, Chief Conservator of Forests (PRA) in Nagpur, and Bharat Singh Hadan, Deputy Conservator of Forests in Nagpur. W.V. Nagulwar and S.A. Bhandara will conduct further inquiries.
