In a shocking turn of events, 26 people got jobs directly in Iraq by creating fake degrees in the name of Nagpur University. This was revealed through correspondence between the Iraqi embassy and the colleges affiliated with the university for verification of these degrees.
In the first week of June, Bajirao Karanjekar College of Pharmacy in Sakoli, Bapurao Deshmukh College of Engineering in Wardhe and Dr. Ambedkar College received a letter. This letter asked whether the degrees and mark sheets of the 26 employed students are from the same college.
The college informed the embassy that no such students studied in their college. The verification also clarified that they do not have a registration number.
Iraq Embassy sent a similar letter to Nagpur University asking for similar information. When the university department verified all these degrees and mark sheets, it was found that these degrees and mark sheets bearing the university logo and the signature of the Vice-Chancellor were fake.
Abdul Hameed, Coordinator in Iraq Embassy, personally visited the university on June 14 to confirm this. The degrees and mark sheets the Embassy in Iraq received are between 2017, 2019 and 2020. Interestingly, during 2019 and 2020, there was an outbreak of Corona throughout the country.
