There has been a stir in the city due to the fake degree surfaced in the university and getting a job abroad. The central government has also become active regarding this matter. The Union Home Ministry had sought information from the university regarding this. After this, the administration gave the ministry complete information about the matter. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Subhash Chaudhari gave this information.
A shocking case of making fake degrees in the name of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University had come to the fore. On the basis of these fake degrees, the 27 students got jobs in Iraq. In such a situation, the Iraq Embassy contacted the university and the concerned college to check these degrees; then, it was revealed to be bogus degrees. The special thing is that the fake degrees were made using Nagpur University’s logo and the Vice-Chancellor’s fake signature. Out of these 27 degrees, 24 were in pharmacy, 2 in engineering and 1 in microbiology.
The Vice-Chancellor Dr. Subhash Chaudhari, has clarified that none of the students whose names appeared in the fake degrees are from the university. In this regard, the University has informed the Central Government’s Education Department, Ministry of External Affairs, Home Department and University Grants Commission.
