The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued an `Orange` alert for Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Bhandara and Gondia predicting thunderstorms with lightning and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places.
The weather department issued a `Yellow` alert for Nagpur, Wardha, Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Bhuldana and Washim. It said that thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rainfall at isolated places were likely.
In a nowcast warning, the weather department said there is a high possibility of intense spells of rain at isolated places in Bhandara, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Amravati, and Gadchiroli. It is crucial for the residents in these areas to stay informed about the weather updates and stay indoors if possible during the severe weather conditions.
Additionally, light to moderate rainfall is also expected at a few places in Chandrapur, and at isolated places in Gadchiroli, Gondia, Bhandara, Nagpur, and Amravati. Yavatmal may also experience light rainfall at isolated places.
