Good news for all the medical aspirants. Those looking to pursue MBBS in the coming time can also do it from IIT Kharagpur. The institute has introduced a new course at BC Roy Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology. This major development is the result of NEP, under which the Institute has updated the curriculum for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Director of IIT Kharagpur, in his press conference, informed about the development to take place under the NEP is the multidisciplinary research in science, law, management, and technology. He also informed about the broadening of choice of electives in UG and PG courses. In addition to this, dual degree programmes have also been introduced.
He also said that PG internships have also been introduced into the curriculum. The institute has also opened an international student office and aims to increase international admissions.
BC Roy Multispecialty Medical Research Centre of IIT-KGP and AIIHPH joined hands last year to start a new online course. The certificate course on Health Promotion and Education Intervention was introduced under NPTEL. This course aimed to help participants understand the need for health promotion and intervention, planning and evaluating health promotion and education intervention.
