Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Vice-Chancellor Dr Subhash Chaudhari is likely to face action soon. He may be directed to proceed on long leave, during the enquiry against him.
Dr Chaudhari’s tenure has been full of controversies. A large number of complaints against him were received by the Chancellor. Minister for Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil also assured enquiry into the complaints. Deputy Secretary Ajit Bawiskar conducted an enquiry and submitted his report. The controversial tenure of Dr Chaudhari was also raised in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly during the monsoon session.
The sources have informed that Dr Chaudhari is likely to be sent on forced leave or he may even tender his resignation. Action against the Vice-Chancellor can be taken by the Chancellor only, he being the appointing authority.
The sources also said that the Vice-Chancellor of Gondwana University, Gadchiroli mkay be directed to take additional charge as VC of RTMNU.
