Veteran lyricist and poet Dev Kohli is no more. The lyricist-poet, who wrote songs for more than 100 hit Bollywood films, reportedly passed away on August 26. He was 80 years old.
Dev Kohli’s professional life
Born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, Dev Kohli wrote more then hundred songs for hit Bollywood films including Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, Judwaa 2, Musafir, Shoot Out At Lokhandwala, Taxi Num 911 and more. His first breakthrough came with Geet Gaata Hoon Main in the 1971 film Laal Patthar starring Raaj Kumar, Hema Malini, Raakhee and Vinod Mehra. Churning out numerous hit songs such as Maaye Ni Maaye, Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen, Geet Gaata Hoon, O Saki Saki and more following that, Dev Kohli made quite a name for himself in the entertainment industry.
