Rashtriya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month) ,was celebrated by Arogya Poshan Kendra of Ashadeep Apang Mahila Bal Vikas Sanstha Nagpur in association with Indira Gandhi Medical College, Nagpur, at Rajkumar Kevalramani Women’s College.
Program was organised by Department of Home Science on the theme ‘ Nutrition and Health Awareness for women ‘.
In ‘Ahar Jagar’_ , Dr. Anagha Nasery spoke about the importance of September being celebrated as the Rashtriya Poshan Maah ( National Nutrition Month) to promote the importance of balanced diet.
Suposhit Bharat, Sakshar Bharat Aur Sabal Bharat ( well nourished India, Literate India and Empowered India) is the theme of the nutrition month for the year 2023. She pointed out that “Today’s girl will become a mother in future.. Balanced nutrition is necessary for her.”
Appealing to the girls to avoid junk food, and emphasised on having a balanced diet. The programme began with a food quiz. Two videos ‘Aahar Bharood’ and ‘Khoob Badhenge Hum’ by Ashadeep were screened.
Dr. Seema Ubale announced the results of the quiz competition and distributed the prizes. Dr. Mrinalini Borkar, Professor, Indira Gandhi Medical College, guided the audience about ‘Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment for Women’ , an initiative of the Government of Maharashtra.
She elaborated importance of awareness about early diagnosis and the correct course of action for treating the patients. Prof. Chetna Bhat and her colleagues made special efforts for the success of the programme. Principal Dr. Urmila Dabir, faculty of the college, and students were present in the programme
