The customs department caught two youths with two kilos of gold worth 87 lakh 14 thousand rupees. Both of them had hidden this gold in their luggage and brought it in paste form.
The arrested accused has been identified as Md. Shahid Nalband (33) Res. Hubli, Karnataka and Pirbaba Kalandar Babusa Saudagar (38) Res. Hangal, Karnataka.
After receiving information that two persons were smuggling gold from Qatar Airways, the customs department laid a trap at the Nagpur airport. As soon as flight No QR-590 landed at Nagpur airport, customs officials stopped the two passengers took them into custody, and searched them. Both of them have found 1 kg 697 grams of 24-carat gold. This gold was in paste form and the gold was converted into capsules. Such capsules are easy to put in private parts.
